About this weed

Coronopus didymus (L.) Sm. is a plant in South Africa’s Red List of Plants. It is also known as Lesser Swine-cress or Carrot Weed, and is a member of the mustard family, Brassicaceae.
It is an annual or biennial herb that can grow up to 30cm by 20cm.
Carrot Weed has pubescent stems that can grow up to 50 cm long, and has a strong smell when crushed. The leaves are sparsely pubescent or subhairless, with pinnately lobed lower leaves and sessile cauline leaves with entire lobes.
The plant flowers from July to September, and the seeds ripen from August to October.
