Well-known for its small, dark green leaves setting off a strong mint aroma when crushed.
M. pulegium (10 - 30 x 40cm) is ideal for shady spots and has peppermint-scented, small dark green leaves. Known as the Pennyroyal, it prefers damp conditions.
M. x rotundifolia (25 x 60cm) has apple-scented, velvety leaves.
