Planting position: Full sun.Wind protection or staking.
Requires thorough, regular watering.Well-draining, organically-enriched soil.Spring application of complete fertiliser.
Propagate from late spring-sown seed.

This hardy annual has fine, thread-like leaves and large, flat umbels of yellow flowers during midsummer. Light and flat, winged seeds follow after flowering period and these are strong in flavour. The Dill’s much used parts are rich in potassium, sodium, sulphur and minerals.
